About KARDX
Table games on the TV. Your phone is your seat.
What it is
KARDX turns a TV or laptop and the phones already in everyone's pockets into a card table. It's made for playing together in the same room: the big screen shows the table for everyone, and each phone holds one player's cards and buttons. Texas Hold'em is the first game, with more to come.
How a game night works
- Open KARDX on the TV or laptop, pick a game and create a table. It shows a QR code and the table's code.
- Everyone scans the QR code with their phone (or types the code on the KARDX home page) and picks a name. That's their seat.
- Play: the TV shows the cards on the table, the pot and whose turn it is; your phone shows your own cards and what you can do. Chips are play money, for fun only.
- Friends who aren't playing can watch from their phones and send reactions.
Step by step, with pictures: how to play.
There's no account to make and no app to install — it all runs in the browser. On an iPhone, adding KARDX to the Home Screen gives it the full screen.
Privacy
- No accounts. The only thing you give is a name for your seat, and it can be anything.
- Play money. Chips are for fun: there's nothing to buy and nothing to win.
- Tables don't last. A table and everything in it — names, chips, cards — goes away from the server once it's been idle for a while. Your browser keeps a sealed copy of its last few tables for up to a year, so a game can pick up where it left off; only KARDX can read it.
- A cookie for your seats. Your browser remembers which seats are yours, so you can get back to them.
